Yearly Rewind 2018

2019 is almost upon us! It’s crazy to think that this year has already happened…although this year hasn’t exactly been a great year for me, despite turning 18. I may eventually write a post on what went on, when its all been sorted, for now though.

2018 has been a crappy year for me personally, my reading has suffered thanks to it, I’ve been on auto pilot for most of the year. And I’m determined to make the most of 2019…we’ll see how that goes eh?

Rewinds are the new wrap ups, we’ll be having monthly rewinds starting next year as well yearly ones. I also have some exciting news, so keep reading for that! Now this post is split into different topics: Blog, Reading, Writing, Life, Announcements. & Goals/Plans.

Haven’t really made any progress on this, still at page 70 though, maybe I’ll finish it this week? Who knows.

Aaah this is a reread, book 2 in the Chicagoland Vampires series, I may finish it tonight we’ll see. I tend to devour these books in one sitting haha.

What is this?! Yes I finally finished reading this book, whilst I thoroughly enjoyed it, I did feel like it didn’t need to be quite so long. Still, I’ll be working on my review for this shortly.

This was a reread for me but my god did I need this, it was also part of Dewey’s Readathon which I took part in. So I’m quite happy I managed to finish a book.

Eeek so I handed in my first assignment of the college term, and I’ve already got another one which I’m both excited about and scared cause there’s a 10 minute presentation to the class involved. I don’t to presenting to classes…*runs and hides*

Blogoween is well over half way through now, and sadly I am actually going to away due family circumstances from this Fri 26 till possibly Tues 30th. So I won’t be online for two of my host days *sniffs* sadly there’s nothing I can do about this guys, but my prompts are done and everything is mostly ready to go.

I’m considering switching up my wrap ups, in that switching to Monthly Wrap Ups. I’m not sure what I’m going to do, but this could be the last weekly wrap up you see for a while whilst I figure things out.

Eeeek so I’m actually just in the midst of copying across some posts and reviews. Yes that’s right, I finally wrote some book reviews which have been waiting for serveral months haha. Anyway we’re basically half way through blogoween now, and you guys are absolutely killing this!

Please also go follow the official twitter account for all things blogoween and blogmas, where Sam and I will keep you updated with what’s happening during the events. As well as giving you teasers for what we’ve been plotting.

I’ve really gotten into the swing of my new routine, in that I now format blog posts and do college work downstairs whilst watching Supernatural. And OMG you guys, I’ve fallen for Dean and Cas. I’ll keep you all updated on what happens, I’m on season 5 now hehe.

Blogoween has been going for a week already?! Say whaaaat? I’m just as baffled as you guys, I’m also eternally grateful for all those who decided to sign up. You guys truly blew Sam and I away with how many have signed up, for the first year we run this event.

I’m also slightly behind with blog hopping to all your blogoween posts. But I’ll do my best to catch up ❤

This week has been different, in terms of me doing a wee bit of self reflecting, learning to stop fighting myself at every turn. I’m going to do a post at some point where I’ll explain more, about what I’ve been up to but in a nutshell: I’ve started journalling, I’m in the process of trying to organise myself, my life and the blog, I’m trying to reconnect with who I am and where I want to be/go. I’ve been watching a lot of Kayln Nicholson’s videos and I just…they’ve really helped me address a lot of things already. You know how we sometimes want to wait for this ‘right moment’ to do things?

There’s never going to be a ‘right’ moment – we just have to stop procrastinating and actually tell ourselves that it’s time to get moving. That project we want to start won’t start itself sooo there’s that, I’ve also been blog hopping to the blogoween posts.

So…my wrap ups may be getting a few more sections added we’ll see what happens.

life updates

Most people who talk to me, know me in real life or you know…witness my shrieking over on discord. Will know I’m a huge procrastinator, like it’s beyond a joke how bad I am. I always knew I procrastinated but recently, this past week has been full of me questioning many things, wondering if I’m even good at writing. My self doubt in my writing (outside of blogging) seems to have come back harder than ever before, add on the inner perfectionist inside me which has risen. I’ve been struggling to just get things done, cause I’m not happy with things…

It led me to realise a few things, I need to stop fighting my perfectionist trait, learn to embrace it and how to handle it. Consequently that pushed me to write a discussion on perfectionism. I’ve also realised that I need to sort myself out for real this time, I have this habit of taking on a lot, cause I like being busy. Yet I’ve never learned my limit, I’m still learning my limit. But I’ve got Blogoween, which I co organised with Sam, then we’ll have Blogmas in December.

In between then there’s November, I turn 18 on the 1st and it’s also NaNoWriMo – I really want to take part in NaNoWriMo this year but in order to do that. I’ve got to schedule the hell out of my posts.

Also, we hit 1k on my twitter and 400 on the blog. I can’t thank you guys enough, honestly means so much to me. I did say I was going to run a graphics giveaway and I will do…but for my own sanity, health and well being I won’t start it until November at the earliest. I have so much planned for these last three months, which I’m super excited about.

I’ve been buzzing about 2019 too, I have plans for this blog and I can’t wait to take you guys, on this journey as my blog changes with me, evolves and grows. Until then, you can enjoy my discussions, tags, occasional review and whatever else pops up on here.
