My hiatus meant I also took a step back from blog hopping, as when I go about my blog hopping duties, it makes me want to write. I love reading blog posts but I also get inspiration from them and just generally, it’d make me staying on hiatus harder. So if you suddenly see me popping up in your notifications on posts which are a few months old…it’s because I’m catching up on some blog hopping.

Life Updates

My hiatus wasn’t all sunshine and happiness. My mental health seems to have been having a tantrum particularly in May, even now I’m still struggling a bit. However its not all gloom here cause after 2 years of writing fanfiction, so I wouldn’t let my writing muscles get cramped. I have a WIP I’m super duper excited for, just know it’s gonna have a German Shepherd in and I am ridiculously excited for it!

I didn’t read anything in May due to my mental health but erm June….yeah I don’t know what happened either. Apparently I wanted to read books back to back, though I tend to read books in either one or two chunks now. Rather than over a period of days.

I finish college on the 12th July and honestly…I’m not ready. Well I am but also not. Since then comes the next step of I-don’t-know-what-I’m-doing-and-we’re-getting-closer-to-me-turning-19 *banshee wails* Anyway I’ve handed in my final assignment which is wild, so for the last two weeks I’ll be prepping things for our showcase. Basically we show off our work that we’ve done throughout the year/s and we can also create work just for the showcase.

I’m planning on creating a post talking about my time in college, not sure when that’ll be out, so keep your eyes peeled loves!

Bookending Summer starts today so if you’ve not signed up yet, there’s still time, sign ups don’t close for another 2ish weeks yet. More info on that will be linked below! As for my posting schedule…we’ll see. I have some collab posts I want to post and I’ve got a growing mountain of tags to get through so we’ll see how that goes.

I’m also changing up how I rate books, I finally figured out a rating system! Oh and my reviews are going to live over on my Goodreads. Unless it’s an ARC, review request or part of a blog tour I’m kinda scrapping reviews from my blog. I’ll be talking more about that in an upcoming post though!

  2. I’m so proud of you for taking a hiatus but I’m so happy you’re back! Congrats and yay all around! I went on vacation a couple weeks ago now and it was so nice. I wish it was more than a week but honestly, I don’t know that I have ever had a solid week of just being away like that before. It was amazing. I’m looking forward to Bookending Summer with you! Glad you’re back!

    • awww glad to know I was missed ❤ Oooooo vacation sounds nice, but I'd really love to be somewhere cold…I can't be doing with the heat honestly does my head in. Aaaaah Bookending Summer shall be a blast! So glad you're taking part! ❤

  3. Zephyyyyyy 😍 also hi and welcome back, Clo!

good on you for looking after your mental health (even if you did need some help staying on hiatus, ahem), and I hope things continue to get better 💕 post-college life and adulting definitely sound like a huge step, but you’ve got time, you’ll figure it out, I believe in you!

ooooh you’ve picked up some awesome books; Monsters of Verity isn’t my favorite V.E. Schwab series but it’s not bad, and I’ve been wanting to read The Boy Who Steals Houses but still haven’t gotten around to it 😅

looking forward to BE Summer and Tidyathon!

    • Aaaah thanks Izzy, honestly don’t know what I’d do without you guys to help me stay on hiatus ❤ Thank youuuu I hope they do too, I'll get there.

Actually the V E Schwab books my irl bestie got them on my behlaf when she went to a book singing of V E Schwabs and I gave her the money for them haha so they're both signed copies eeek! I've not read any of her other books but I really loved the Monsters of Verity maybe because it was during the first few weeks of me starting college they were like…my comfort blanket to escape in those weeks where I didn't have a friend at college. (who is now one of my best mates)

Yus BE summer and the tidyathon shall be gold, hopefully and we all need our sunglasses hehe ❤

YES finally you read Eliza and her monsters, please tell me you loved it as much as me!!!

I also quite struggled with my own mental health this past month.. hopefully you are better now and if not totally, you’ll keep feeling better xx
Wow, how time pass, eh … for me- my quarter of century is just around the corner aswell, less than 5months oh my god. 🤭

  5. Welcome back!!! I wanted to focus on Camp Nano this month and I’ll be interning with a family friend so my plate is full this month but I’ll read the posts for Bookending Summer! 🤗🤗 squishes you and hopes you feel better. Ugh, yeah, how to rate and review books is always difficult for me to think about (like why does it have to make us think so much?)

  6. Welcome back Clo! Hopefully you’ve gotten your much needed and deserved rest these past weeks. We’ll be keeping watch over you to ensure you don’t get overworked, especially with the end of college coming closer and closer! I’ve been seeing glimpses of your work and I’m so incredibly proud of you! Even though it might sound incredibly scary, I’m 100% confident that you’ll do amazing ❤

    • Thanks Michelle! Awh honestly, I’m glad I’ve got you guys keeping an eye out for me cause I don’t realise I’m overworking myself until it’s too late xD Ah ❤ ❤ ❤ I'm contemplating doing a blog post to showcase my college work through the two years mostly because it'd be fun to share my progress xD

Life is scary but with the right people by your side, the scary part don't seem as scary 🙂

  7. Welcome back! Sometimes it’s good to take a break.
I think I’m going to read Shatter Me this month because I have the first four books and I’ve been planning on reading it forever.
How did I not know about Bookish Collisions? I’ll definitely be joining.
I’ll also be joining bookending summer!
Congrats on nearly being done with college!

  8. Feel like we’ve both finished hiatus at the same time!! ❤

I really hope you like To Kill A Kingdom – I loved it when I read it, and met Alexandra Christo last year at YALC and she was lovely.

19 isn’t too bad! I’m 22 and graduate this month too, but from Uni and have no idea what I’m doing still haha

  10. Frost Blood is calling to me, I have to resist the urge to go buy it and read it now lol. And uhhhhh so glad you’re back on your blog, I missed you, but I’m also so glad you took the time away. I can’t wait to see what your blog has in store especially since regular reviews are gonna go to GR, and can’t wait to see your post about your college days!! ❤ I'm so excited for you, and don't worry, we'll be around to panic with you about life after college lol

    • Buy itttttt honestly, you should not only is it a pretty cover but the story is amazing. At least for me it was hehe. Awh thanks Haley, I missed blogging but then I also didn’t xD It’s nice to be back though, phahaha honestly I’d love to know what I’m planning for my blog content too all I know is we’ll probs have more discussions…extra space and all that jazz xD

Yayyyy I need you guys to panic to when I finish cause what is adulting xD My college days are highly dull to those in books imo xD

  11. Congrats on your graduation!
And wow, this is gonna be your last teen year – are you ready for that yet? *raises eyebrow*

And woo for BE Summer! I’m participating but still can;t figure out which prompts to take part in *cries a little*

    Liked by 1 person

    • No. I still forget I’m 18 ok, and I mean technically next year shall be my last teen year mwahahaha pros of being born in November xD So I spend 10 months of 2020 as a teen for the last time ever….*gulps* It’s gonna be weird but I’m also excited cause man I’m so over with my teen years haha

And thank youuuuu, go with the prompts that call to you, try writing out a few see which ones click best? ❤

      Liked by 1 person

      • Haha I’ll be 18 next year and I can’t process it except for the fact I need to do something about my passport (because I’m a September baby and I need to get a new passport before my birthday if I wanna travel in the summers and it’s gonna be a Thing)

Thanks for the advice! I’ll try that 🙂

  12. Hiiiiiiiii! Hope you had a good break but sorry to hear about your mental health – that really sucks 😦 I obviously have no clue what’s going on in your life but it might just be end of year stress & hopefully will get better soon (whatever it is! 💕)
I know what you mean about school! I want to finish this year & have a break where I can read like crazy & also next year we drop some subjects we don’t wanna do (no more French – yay!) but then growing up’s so scary!

    Liked by 1 person

    • Heyyyy ❤ aw thank you for that, I mean it's not end of year stress god I wish it were ❤ I'll get there though, it'll be a long haul though

Growing up is both the most terrifying and wonderful thing ever to go through, I love being able to reflect back on my past years and see how far I've come and how much further I know I can go in many things.

  13. Welcome back, Clo! I am so happy you read so much in June, you’ve been slumpy for AGES! I know your hiatus was difficult for you, but I am glad you took this time for yourself. Interested to see the post on scrapping reviews on the blog, and all your future posts!

    Liked by 1 person

  14. *looks lovingly at Zephy* Awww, look at that cute fellow! I am so glad you managed to stay on hiatus for the desired time, Clo. Much proud of you. I am also very happy you’re back. I can’t wait to see what you have coming up!!! I am very excited for BE Summer and Tidyathon (we both know I need to tidy my blog) and I’m curious to see about your reviewing changes. So glad to have you back, and you already know I’m excited about this WIP, that I’ve already decided in my mind it’s going to have a GSD as main star. Hoomans don’t count :))))

    Liked by 1 person

    • Thank you Rubyyyy ❤ Haha not gonna lie I'm torn between wanting to make the story a contemporary or making it a paranormal book with the GSD as a main/secondary character phahaha, I'm just imagining the dog staring at a vampire and smiling back at the vampire and it cracks me up haha.
