Monthly Rewind: February

How is it March tomorrow?! Howwwww? I don’t understand this, before I started blogging months dragged by, now it’s like they were here and BAM gone. Anyhoo grab a cuppa, a snack and settle down as I rewind the past month for you all. What I got up to, how I’ve been, books I’ve read and more!

Goals

  • reply & return comments
  • blog hop at least once a week
  • schedule ahead
  • Fanfic Writing?
  • Read at least 3 books
  • GYST days
  • Weds = Social Media Free
  • Try and sort my sleep schedule

Ok I’m just gonna say SORRY. I am aware I’m super behind on replying to Feb comments. I have been blog hopping in general though, usually once a day. GYST days were again super useful for me and I’ve managed to stick to have a social media free weds.

My sleep schedule…funny story. Somehow I managed to change it from going sleep at like 2am and waking up at 10/11am (if I had college I’d just lose a lot of sleep!) to going to bed at 10pm and waking up roughly at 6/7am.

Basically I’m going to bed anywhere from 22:00-00:00 and getting up from anywhere 6:00-10:00. Like the latest I’ve been getting up at, is just gone 10am. For me, that’s like a huge improvement and honestly it’s helped me in so many ways already. So I’m going to be striving to keep this up going into March!

Life Updates

Month of love is officially over. Oh by the way, why do the supermarkets think it’s ok to bring out the Easter eggs in late Jan/early Feb?! AT LEAST WAIT TILL MARCH NO ONE WANTS TO PLAN THAT FAR AHEAD FOR BUYING EGGS or maybe they do hmm

February has actually been a time and a half. Honestly, so much has been happening despite my erm…lack of reading. *sighs* I’m trying to spin a positive light on it, I’m not gonna force myself to read when I’m not in the mood too. It’s not like I’ve not got a ton of backlog reviews still to work my way through haha.

Bookending Spring 2019 is literally a month away. Holy firecrackers someone save Sam and I xD I’m only semi kidding, it’s just we’re both Type A’s and we like things to follow a plan and structure. More on that later though!

Speaking of Sam (dunno how she’s not sick of me yet) we set up a Discord Server called Bookish Collision, we’ve been working on it for most of Feb. So it’s only recently been open to the public. You can find out more about that later on too 😉

As for my life…hmmm I bought a bullet journal and watercolour brush pens. My excitement is erm… !!!!!! that doubled because its dotted paper and YOU GUYS I’VE GRADUATED FROM FREAKING LINED NOTEBOOKS AND I GET TO ORGANISE THINGS IN A NOTEBOOK WITH PRETTY PENS

*clears throat* I’m also having a BuJo wrap up post go up the day before these rewinds go up. So make sure to keep your eyes peeled for that next month hehe. I’ve also started cross stitching, this is gonna be my first proper cross stitch project. If you’re on the Discord server/s you know…if not *chuckles* you’ll have to wait till I finish it.

Announcements

Bookending Spring 2019

We have hosts and the prompts are…well they’re awesome and I can’t wait for you all to see them. I am so stoked for the Spring event! So much planning, organising and I really hope you’ll all take part somehow. The Tidyathon will be running alongside it, with yours truly shrieking about all the tidying she hasn’t done yet 😉

Bookish Collision

Oh hey this is the server Sam and I created. It’s a place for all book lovers, whether you’re a book blogger, bookstagrammer or booktuber. Hell if you’re just a reader you’re welcome to join, you will need either a twitter or goodreads which can verify you are indeed a reader. (just because we don’t want trolls ruining our bookish fun!)

The whole idea of the server, is to bring the bookish community together. We can also support everyone better, across the platforms which is great, spreading love is so important in this community. Particularly across platforms I feel, you can also make friends too.

At the moment we’re still a smol server, but we truly hope you’ll swing on by and join in the fun. ❤

  1. Dotted bujos are the best! I don’t really know why I love them sm but I’d pay twice as much for them than lined notebooks. I cant wait to see all the amazing prompts for Bookending Spring. I won’t say I won’t join because the prompts will probably change my mind anyways. Also thank you for mentioning my superhero post. I didn’t think anyone cared about it 😀

    • Yassss they’re the best. Honestly it’s like the lines are very obvious that it’s lined. With dotted though it can pass as plain paper until you look at closely. Awww I loved that post Jamsu and well hehe, I like the prompts we have so far 😉

    • Ah I was really bad blog hopping for most of last year to be honest, so I’ve made sure I’ve been doing it more regularly this year because I love supporting others content. You’ll get there though ❤ we all have off days/weeks/months

  4. Congrats on launching your book community chat! And sooo much busyness in February right?! (I’m glad you’re getting more sleep though.) 💛 I always feel like I never get enough done in February and then spend March trying to panic-catch up hahah. But oooh bullet journals and new pens! HAVE FUN!

  6. I’m so behind on blogging too which is why I’m reading this post three days late :((( but thank you so much for linking to my post! It means a ton! And I’m sorry to hear that February didn’t go as well as it could have for you. I’m right there with you — I’m starting to get a bit overwhelmed balancing blogging, reading, writing, and everything in between. I joined Bookish Collision but literally have barely talked in it (partly because it’s such a big server that I don’t really know how to go about integrating myself and partly because I just have no time!!) which I feel really bad about. It’s a super cool project, though, and I’m glad to be a part of it! 😀 Anyways, I hope March goes better for the both of us. I’ll be looking forward to that bullet journal post!

    • everyone else is simply early, you’re never late 😉 Ah yeah balancing everything can get pretty overwhelming until you find that balance. Just remember, do what you love, don’t stress out over things. If you get behind on something it’s ok ❤

I mean just jump in and say hey on one of the channels, we're all friendly there Alex, if i spy you online I may @ you and say hey if that'd help you. Aww I'm glad you're part of it too ❤ Hehehe I'm excited for the bujo post 😉

      • Thank you so much — I needed to hear that. I’m still trying to get back on track and figure out what the best way to balance everything is, but hopefully I’ll figure it out soon? I haven’t even touched Discord yet because I’m still trying to get caught up on WordPress, Twitter, and Instagram, but I’ll be re-introducing myself soon! I really appreciate your offer, and I really am glad that I joined the server. I just need to get my life sorted out so I can be an active participant ❤

  7. Thanks for including my post, Clo! February went by so fast and I had some troubles, but hopefully both of us can have a much better month this time! (I didn’t even finish any books in February, so any books this month would be an improvement!)

Congrats on your announcements, as well!

  8. Don’t forget those 5am sleep times too, Clo. I’ll never let you forget that, LOL. And yes, you tagged me in it last year but I never got around to it until the next year because why not.

I LOVE dotted notebooks, but only because I decided to get one for my accomplishments journal and it looks like blank paper but not actually blank if you look at it from afar. No one will ever know I play connect the dots to create my accomplishments spread, LOL.

    • *looks at you innocently* I mean hey you at least had a tag to do on Valentines day hehe. I loved the idea of them but wasn’t sure if they were as brilliant as everyone claimed. They are. I’m in love and will forever love dots over lines now. I know now you play connect the dots hehehe

  10. I love how productive you were last month, even if you haven’t been reading lately. I’ve been really enjoying your guides and discussion posts!

I am also a bit behind on my blog comments but I am mostly good about blog hopping, ish. Easy to fall behind though. I hope you have a great month and continue waking up early!
