OMG That Song ~ Book Tag

I found this tag HERE and we all know what I’m like for booktags. I’m trash for them basically, if you have any book tags feel free to tag me in them. If you do though and you’re on WordPress DO make sure you link back to one of my posts. Otherwise I won’t get the pingback, and won’t know you’ve tagged me 🙂

The basics: For each question I will be giving both song and book that go with the question. They don’t have to go together, but sometimes they may.

My Jam: A song you have to listen to no matter how many times you’ve heard it and a book that you’ll never get sick of…

Ok well specifically the song is a cover. The Middle by Zedd (covered by RoadTrip) As a side note, you’ll get to see me ramble about RoadTrip in this coming Thursday Talks as it’s all about music. Anyhoo…moving on shall we.

Throwback: a song that reminds you of the cringe-iest time in your life and a book you read that you wouldn’t like if you read it now…

I mean I have a lot of good throwback songs, I never really had a ‘cringey’ section to my life yet…but I’d probably have to go with Psycho Girl by Busted. It reminds me of many car journeys with my mum when we’d have Busted on, and I’d be singing along. Never mind if I got the words wrong – who cares right? Haha.

Replay: A recent song that you have on repeat and a recent favorite book…

Erm…idk it varies day to day. A recent favourite book would have to be hands down It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover (review and discussion for that here). Songs oh let’s see…I listen to a weird mix of stuff so it really does varies. Oh wait here we go 5 Seconds of Summer’s new single Want You Back what a tuneeeee! I loved their old stuff and I’m still loving their new stuff.

Gets me: a song that is literally me and a book that is me in book form…

I have two song choices here both are by Hailee Steinfield though: Love Myself and Most Girls. I think both songs are great, I don’t always listen to them much but they get me I guess. Cause too often we’re taught by society (particularly girls) that the way we look is wrong. As for Most Girls…whenever I listen to it, it makes me happy because you know I want to be like most girls. All us girls are in essence like one another, the fact that a chat up line is ‘you’re just not like most girls’ it’s kinda feeding into that toxicity that females have with one another. But that’s a post for another time.

There’s no book version of me sadly…I’m too weird for that xD

WUT: A weird song that you liked anyways and a unique book that stuck out to you for some reason…

I mean define weird? Ah literally all that comes to mind is in one of RoadTrip’s vlogs they created this song which was weird, and absolutely hilarious. ‘This Really Hurts My Knees’ that’s literally all they sang whilst hitting there knees together. Yeah – they’re a bunch of weirdos it’s totally fine. A unique book. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. The whole layout and structure is so different and whilst I found it hard at times to connect with the characters I still enjoyed it and loved it.

Let’s Go: Pick your best pump up song and a book that inspires you…

*coughs* soooo don’t murder me but I’m bringing RoadTrip into this again because I literally don’t listen to many pump up songs. Most of the songs are sad, love songs, break up songs or are heartbreaking in general. Anyway, RoadTrip’s original song After The Show is great, lotta love for that. A book that inspires me damn I think any of Holly Bourne’s probably. I love her writing and I love how honest she is as well as the themes she includes.

Chill: Your best chill or relaxing song and a book you’d curl up with on a rainy day…

I don’t do relaxing songs…my relaxing songs are break up songs. Probably anything P!Nk or Avril Lavigne though would be chilling. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare is a great choice. Or just any book I’m currently reading.

Addicting: A guilty pleasure song and a light, trashy read you can’t help but love…

Technically I could just throw in all of RoadTrips under this one. Not cause it’s a guilty pleasure…but cause they’re addicting. Their original stuff and their covers just are incredible. Light trashy reads literally describe any Sarah Dessen book I’ve read so we’ll go with them. I love them, and their predictability.

Nostalgia: A throwback song you look back on fondly and a book you read and loved when you were young…

Ok let’s just go with Patience by Take That, Year 3000 by Busted, If I Could Turn Back Time by Cher, You Gave Love A Bad Name by Bon Jovi, Bat Out of Hell by Meatloaf. I could go on but there’s a few to choose from. As for book, it’d be the Charlie Bone series by Jenny Nimmo, will always love that series and I’m going to at some point  find the time to reread it haha.

Did not mean for this book tag to turn into more of a promo for RoadTrip. Or well haha, I have a post hitting you all Thursday 19th April, on my favourite bands and interests where I chat about the boys a bit more and some other amazing artists. If you did want to check the boys out RoadTrip’s twitter, YouTube channel, vlog channel

What did you think to my answers? Do you agree with any of mine? What about songs? Thanks for reading 🙂
