What is the last book adaptation movie you saw?
Oh god, lets see, I haven’t watched any films in ages. I think it may have been me rewatching The Vampire Academy or possibly The Maze Runner…
What book movie are you most excited for?
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken is currently being turned into a movie, and I AM BEYOND EXCITED! Liam is my love and the squad in the first book, love it. I’m also intrigued as to how they adapt it, mainly because Alex herself, as said she’s happy with how it’s been translated from book to movie. So…*crosses fingers*
Which upcoming book movie will you definitely NOT
Erm I don’t know, lets google the upcoming book movies and see…well do you guys know of Fallen by Kate somebody? I can’t remember her last name at the moment, I remember being super stoked for the series and I finished the first book Fallen and was like, how bout no?! Honestly, couldn’t say I enjoyed it that much, however I may see if I can get hold of the movie to watch. Yeah I know this wasn’t exactly the question but I don’t really keep up to date with films haha.
Which book movie would you NEVER watch again?
I don’t know, like I often rewatch them after a while, oh wait probably the Percy Jackson films only because I want to read the books (SOMEHOW I’VE SURVIVED THIS LONG WITHOUT READING THEM?) and also because loads of people have said that they’re basically shit.
Is there a movie you saw that made you want to read the book, if you hadn’t yet?
Years ago when Twilight first came out, I watched it with my mum, that caused me to then read the books. Now though, I don’t know, I mean I certainly don’t regret it because Twilight opened the door to my total vampire and paranormal obsession.
Conversely, is there a movie that made you never want to read the book?
Hmmm no, if I know there’s a book that it was based off I’m likely to give it a go. Oh wait, apart from Fifty Shades…just nope. How did it even get published?! Like there are so many other stories I’ve read on this site wattpad, which have more meaning, content and are moving than that. I’ve only seen bits and pieces of the films on youtube and it makes me roll my eyes a bit, not gonna lie.
Name an adaptation that has almost nothing to do with the book it’s supposedly based on.
Divergent. Once you hit Insurgent it begins to deviate and then at Alleigant its like oh everything different and the ENDING ISN’T EVEN THE SAME! I was annoyed at the ending like, if you’ve read the books you know what I’m on about. Authors write the endings for a reason, totally butchered the ending in my opinion.
Have you ever left the theater during a movie adaptation because it was so bad?
Do you prefer to watch the movie first or read the book first?
Read the book, but there have been many times I’ve seen the movie before reading the book. Its shameful I know.
How do you feel about movie adaptations that age characters up? (e.g characters that are in middle-school, but in the movies they’re all 18)
Ok firstly, if its done right and well I have no issue with it. But also i feel like the director of the movie and the writers should realise that the books were written with a target audience in mind, that same target audience may have grown older and now fit into that age bracket, but there was a reason the author wrote the characters at that age. I mean I dunno, it can work but it can also fail.
Do you get angry when the actors don’t look like you thought the characters looked?
Well no, because we all imagine the same characters slightly differently, and currently I’m imagining Adrian Ivashkov with blonde hair…but he’s a brunette?! You know my Adrian apparently bleached his hair guys, no biggie. My brains broken apparently *smiles sheepishly*
Is there a movie you liked better than its book?
The Maze Runner
Name a book that you would love to see as a movie.
Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom. You can’t just do one and leave out the other! That drives me loopy, bu I feel like these two books would actually be really good as movies. They’d be at least two hours long or maybe 3, but mate I would sit and watch it if it was amazing and like the book. Hands down, love the squad.
