Birthstone ~ Book Tag

I regularly search up book tags so that I have plenty to do – I love completing them and I hope you guys like reading them – so I stumbled across this tag. A small fact about me, my birthstone is Topaz, and my zodiac sign is Scorpio. I also love stuff about zodiac signs and stuff, it fascinates me. Anyway without further a due lets get into this tag. HERE is where I found the tag if you wanted to check it out.

January (GARNET) – Associate with warding off negative forces and dark energies

Name a book with the darkest/evilest character you
can think of.

This one had me stumped, like dark and evil? There are many characters who are dark and evil, but the most evil/dark I wasn’t sure.

……Last chance to skip, its very important you do if you haven’t read the book as I don’t want you to blame me for spoiling you *waves*

Maven for me, I suspected but he truly is sneaky, like a snake. The whole betrayal thing had be face palming like always expect the unexpected Mare, even I know that and I’m not a red/silver hybrid haha.

February (Amethyst): Purple is associated with royalty

Name a book with regal qualities… you can base this off of characters or choose the king of all books

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas, if you’ve read Crown of Midnight and the others, then you’ll know why. Also there are so many royal families and royal people about in this series haha.

March (Aquamarine): Washed out

Name a ‘wishy washy’ character, a character who is not strong or a follower

Quentin aka ‘Q’ from Paper Towns by John Green. #unpopularopinion I couldn’t stand this book, so much about it annoyed me, the characters their personalities in fact I only finished it because I wanted to find out what happened to Margo. My problem with Q was that he let what his friends did control what he did and so when he wanted to go and search for Margo, he didn’t cause of his friends. To be honest I felt like most of the characters were washed out in this book.

April (Diamond): A diamond in the rough

Name a book that you loved but is not well known

So I went through a vampire phase, which I in no way regret because thanks to that phase I discovered two equally epic series. Chicagoland Vampires by Chloe Neill and Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine. Both series are complete, Morganville is made up of 15 books whilst Chicagoland is made up of 13. Both are long series, but so worth it! Honestly you get hooked in, Morganville may take you a while because they are fairly large books haha, but I just love the characters in both series and the banter. I love banter, wit and sarcasm, yet it was blended well with everything else that was happening.

May (Emerald): Said to balance energy

Name two characters who balance each other well

Alec Lightwood and Jace Herondale they’re parabati but as well as that Alec brings the calm to Jace’s recklessness. Dammit now I’ve made myself want to reread this series haha, not good I have too many other books to read first (isn’t it always the case though)

June (Pearl): Associated with loyalty

Name a character who is loyal to the end

Mason from The Vampire Academy I’m just not over his death yet…so unnecessary but he was loyal to Rose through the two books he was in *sniffs and pulls out tissue box*

July (RUBY): Blood red

Name a book that made your blood boil, one that made you angry

Hmmm lets see I don’t think a book has ever made me angry, characters have though for instance don’t you just hate it when two characters are clearly in love, but they can’t see it? Yeah and then they both do stupid things to try and make themselves forget that they love that person. That makes me angry, I mean just fess up already! Most recently this has occurred in The Demon Trappers series by Jana Oliver, its a great series too. Beck and Riley (Riley’s a girl so you know) but honestly I had to shut the book several times and glare at the wall.

August (Peridot): Pale green (it pales in comparison to other gems)

Name a supporting character you liked better than the main character

This doesn’t happen to me very often, usually I like both the main character and supporting characters. In this case the one that springs to mind is I loved Adrian from The Vampire Academy more than Dimitri…I mean it counts right? *shrugs* I’m counting it.

September (Sapphire): Blue like the ocean which is calming

Name a book that had a calming affect on you

The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. Just reading the books calm me, it like visiting an old friend, you know. When I get really angry or pissed off I tend to read it calms me back down as I get lost in another world haha.

October (Opal): Iridescent

Name an iridescent book, this can be a book with a beautiful cover or you can base it off of a character

The Names They Gave Us in person is really shiny and just so nice to look at, I prefer this cover version anyway.

November (Topaz): Associated with resilience

Name a books with a character who rises to the top in a time of adversity

I’ve read so many books with characters lke this, for me though my top two characters are Tessa from The Infernal Devices as she rises to the top when she could have just let the Shadowhunters fight for her. She could have let herself be defeated but she didn’t and that’s one of the many reasons why I love her.

My other character is Ruby from Alexandra Bracken’s Darkest Minds series. She’s not perfect, she’s made mistakes, lied and yet her heart has always been in the right place. She’s shown fear, been terrified despite it all she rises throughout the series to become a fighter. It makes me proud of her kicking ass. Sheesh I feel like a proud mum here.

December (Blue Zircon): Associated with Friendship

Name a book with a friendship you want to be apart of

Honestly I just want to be friends with the Night Court from ACOMAF by Sarah J Maas. The wit, banter but friendship and loyalty they have makes me wish I could live there, and be apart of it.

So that’s the end of the tag, do you agree with my answers? Let me know your thoughts in the comments, I’ll reply as I like getting comments and chatting about books haha. Also what’s your birthstone? As I said previously I’m Topaz, thanks for reading.
