This is where I found the tag, click HERE to be taken to The Bibliophile Girl’s tag, where I nicked the questions. Let’s get into it, I’m also going to add one question of my own at the very end because well…I can.
Do you have a certain place at home
Usually I read at like gone midnight, so its either my bed or my bean bag. Usually my bed though, but if I end up reading during the day then I’m downstairs in the lounge, in the chair closest to the window. That’s my reading chair (I wish).
Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Both actually. It depends where I am, see I made a little storage box thing for my bookmarks, so now I don’t lose them *rushes to check they’re all there* and usually I’ll use a bookmark. However if I’m out and start reading a new book, and don’t have a bookmark, anything is game for a bookmark. Normally random bits or paper, a hair bobble, anything.
Can you just stop reading or do you
have to stop after a chapter/a certain
amount of pages?
Doesn’t bother me either way, most of the time I tend to finish the chapter because more reading time *dances* but if I’m in a rush or something, I can put my book down where I was and pick it back up later.
Do you eat or drink whilst reading?
Tea or Hot Chocolate…but even then I’m wary of it being over my book. Unless of course its a library book, then I’m not overly worried. But I don’t eat and read, cause erm you’ll mark the pages! *shakes head disapprovingly*
Multitasking: Music or TV whilst reading?
I can, yes. In fact I find it hard sometimes to read without music on, because music blocks out any unwanted background noise, and makes doubly sure my parents have to yell to Australia, for me to hear them. Since I ignore them when I’m reading, on accident guys sheesh, I just get engulfed into the world. And add music on, well…it’d be easier to cut the power haha. (please don’t cut the power on me I’ll cry and throw whatever is closest to me at you…wait scratch that I’m not throwing a book at you)
With the TV is depends what my parents put on, sometimes I’ll be dividing me attention between the two, or reading and then listening to the TV. Other times I get too distracted and either leave to go read or put my book down (I know, the shock, its ok I won’t leave it there) and watch TV.
One book at a time or several?
Can someone tell me the last time I was reading just one single book?! Because for the life of me I can’t remember, see my brain is pretty great, and can hold many different plots in its place where school stuff should be (but I mean who cares about physics). Meaning I don’t confuse the plots, although I binge read The Darkest Minds series and I feel like that was a mistake cause for the life of me book 2 is a blur in my head, I remember bits and pieces but um…book 1 and 3 are crystal clear in comparison haha. Don’t binge read a series kids, its bad for you as you’ll then kick yourself and go reread it to know what happened.
Most books I’ve juggled at once…11. More recently its 4/5. But 11 is the highest I’ve juggled and they were all in physical format, not ebooks or audio. So yeah…fun.
Reading at home or everywhere?
I just want to get this off my chest, I am jealous of everyone who can read in the car, on the bus or travelling without getting motion sickness. I ENVY YOU LITTLE DRAGONS! I’ve been training myself to read on the bus to school, and you know I can do it for like 5-10 minutes before feeling sick, grrrr the struggles
Read out loud or silently in your head?
In my head, it annoys me when others read out loud, like mate I’m glad you’re reading and all. But I have no interest in hearing whatever Ella’s doing or whether the fights going to happen or not. So yeah…don’t read out loud near me otherwise you will be death glared severely. You’ve been warned. *winks*
Do you read ahead or skip pages?
I’m ashamed to say yes, but I was younger then like I hadn’t embraced bookish-ness and well I’ve skipped whole chunks. I know I’m a shame to the community, but I don’t do it anymore. In fact I kind of need to reread the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas as I may of skipped the sections with Manon in. *hangs head in shame*
Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
Breaking the spine?! *chokes and dies* you’ve got to be joking? My parents have repeatedly said to me I need to not be so fussy with my books, cause you know buying them online are fab, cheaper saves money. But also whoever picks the books to send you some of them need slapping. I don’t want a book with marks all over it. I paid good money for it! And so my mum’s like you need to stop being so fussy, its ‘just a book’ yes she does say that. So like new, I do my damned best to keep like new as I can.
Remind me to share you a funny story about my copy of City of Heavenly Fire and our dog Zephy when he was puppy. It ends in tears and screaming on my side, and the book well…*wipes tears* 3 years and I’m not over it.
Do you write in your books?
……firstly no. Secondly I kind of want to but I’d have to buy another copy to replace the one I’d write in, or buy another copy to specifically write in. Because you know, that’s me. And I also had an idea to have multiple copies of my favourite books where I underline or high light parts. Cause you know I could create my own collection. Somehow I may have to wait until I live in my place, and earn my own money as my parents think its a waste of money as it is me buying multiple editions for the covers.
Do you read the back page before
finishing the book?
This is the question I added because I’m curious as to if anyone else does, *coughs awkwardly* as I um can’t be the only one who does this. I don’t do it with every book though, just a lot of them. See I did it with Clockwork Princess back when I was 11, the end page made no sense so me being me, I read the whole of the epilogue and I was like a third of the way in. I practically threw the book down, I was a sobbing mess and I procrastinated reading that book for a year and a bit. Somehow though I still haven’t learned my lesson, that reading the page page/s isn’t good, its bad.
I tag anyone who wants to do it, enjoy have fun. And for your ease here’s the questions below so you don’t have to spend forever copying and pasting them.
